Job summary

Downer is seeking a Meter Reader to join our Energy & Utilities team. This active, outdoor role involves visiting homes and businesses to collect gas, water and electricity meter readings, recording data on a mobile device, and hitting daily targets.

Ideal candidates are reliable, able to walk long distances in all weather, and comfortable working independently. Full training is provided, with safety at the centre and opportunities for career growth within a leading infrastructure services

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong time management skills and reliability.
• Good customer service skills and friendly communication.
• Motivation to work safely, follow schedules and get the job done right the first time.

Responsibilities

• Visit homes and businesses to collect meter readings (Gas/Water/Electricity).
• Record data using a mobile device and enter readings accurately.
• Hit daily targets while maintaining safety and quality.
• Receive full training on meter locating and data entry.
