Job summary

ATEC Group Training has exciting opportunities for full-time Metal Fabrication Apprenticeships across Metro Adelaide. Earn while you learn, gain real workplace experience, and work toward MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.

As an apprentice you will gain experience in fabrication, welding, reading drawings, and site/workshop tasks in well‑equipped workshops with experienced tradespeople, while receiving comprehensive off-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a safety‑minded approach.
• Willingness to learn, take direction and work well in a team.
• Previous industry experience or pre-vocational training is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural steel fabrication on large commercial and industrial projects.
• Weld and assemble heavy steel components.
• Engage in workshop and site‑based fabrication work.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Cut, grind, shape and assemble metal products.
• Assist with maintenance and repair tasks within the engineering industry.

About the Role:

As an apprentice, you could gain experience working on a wide range of projects including:

• Structural steel fabrication for large commercial and industrial projects

• Workshop and site-based fabrication work
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Cutting, grinding, shaping, and assembling metal products
• Maintenance and repair work within the engineering industry

You’ll work in well-equipped workshops alongside experienced tradespeople while receiving comprehensive off-the-job training.

Who Should Apply?

• Recent school leavers
• Applicants who have completed VET studies in fabrication or engineering
• Those who have completed Certificate I or II pre-vocational courses
• Anyone with a genuine interest in the metal trades

Prior training is beneficial but not essential

Out-of-trade 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year apprentices are also encouraged to apply!
