Job summary

Woolworths Group is seeking a Merchandise Planner within the Apparel team in Melbourne. The role focuses on developing plans, forecasts and parameters to ensure the range has the right mix, quantity and price to drive sales, profit and optimise inventory.

You will develop financial plans, category strategies and models to support accurate planning, while partnering with stakeholders to meet timelines and optimize stock and margins.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a Planner in a large retail environment.
• Proven success trading a sizeable category in terms of sales value and SKUs.
• Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work toward and deliver on KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop merchandise financial plans and category strategy.
• Develop models and forecasts to optimise stock, sales and profit.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to adhere to the critical path schedule.
• Prepare range review for buy sign off and ensure range is bought within plan parameters.
• In-season management of OTB, inventory, profit, replans, markdown and promotions.
• Monitor in-season and post-season performance and adjust tactics with Buyers.
• Support Buyers with range development and assortment planning.

What you’ll do

Our Merchandise Planners within the Apparel team bring the BIG W purpose to life by developing plans, forecasts and parameters that ensure our range has the right mix, quantity and price to drive sales, profit and optimise inventory.

• Develop merchandise financial plans informed by top-down and bottom-up data to drive business performance
• Develop category strategy that delivers on financial metrics
• Develop models and forecasts to support accurate financial planning and to optimise stock, sales and profit
• Partner with stakeholders to adhere to the critical path schedule
• Develop the option plan, setting a framework within which Designers/Buyers can select ranges. Prepare the range review for buy sign off and work with the buyer to ensure range is bought within plan parameters and OTB
• In season management of OTB, inventory, profit, accurate replans, markdown and promotional plans
• Monitor the in-season and post-season performance of the Department and work with Buyers on strategies and tactics to quickly respond and improve performance

What you’ll bring

• 3 years of experience as a Planner, ideally within a large retail environment
• Proven success in trading a sizeable category, both in terms of sales value and number of SKUs, or previous experience planning a full category
• A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work towards and deliver on key performance indicators (KPIs)
