About the Role

As Merchandise Planner, you will manage planning activities across a portfolio of key accounts, working closely with Account Managers, Designers, Allocators, Warehouse and senior leadership teams.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the right product is available at the right time and in the right quantities, while balancing sales budgets, stock targets, margin, stock turn and customer requirements.

You will be responsible for turning data and market insights into clear commercial recommendations and actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage merchandise planning across a portfolio of key accounts.
  • Plan product mix, seasonal ranges, new season buys, replenishment and end-of-season stock rotations.
  • Analyse sales, stock, margin and performance data to identify risks, opportunities and growth opportunities.
  • Manage Open to Buy (OTB) to ensure inventory investment aligns with sales budgets and stock targets.
  • Reforecast internal sales budgets monthly within OTB.
  • Execute and manage regular replenishment, ensuring stock availability aligns with demand, lead times and seasonal strategy.
  • Manage SKU lifecycles, including new product launches and seasonal model levels.
  • Monitor and manage margin impacts arising from promotions, discounts and foreign exchange movements.
  • Prepare and present insightful planning reports, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Account Managers and Designers in range meetings to review performance, product mix and opportunities.
  • Partner with Allocators to ensure orders align with model levels, demand, OTB and stock targets.
  • Manage inventory across the virtual warehouse, including transfers to support best sellers and clear aged stock.
  • Plan promotional activity in line with forecast demand and minimum representation requirements.
  • Monitor critical paths to ensure orders meet customer delivery expectations and internal deadlines.
  • Incorporate field team and customer insights into replenishment and planning decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with external account Planners and Buyers.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales performance, margin, stock rotation, risks and opportunities.
About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with commercial thinking and excellent relationship-building skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in merchandise planning, retail planning, buying or a related commercial role.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience managing OTB, sales budgets, stock targets and replenishment.
  • A strong understanding of inventory management and stock optimisation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills.
  • The confidence to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to make decisions based on multiple data sources.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify issues and opportunities before they become problems.
  • The ability to build productive relationships across internal teams and with external customers.
  • A collaborative, positive and flexible approach to working within a team.

This 12-month contract is an opportunity to make a genuine commercial impact within a dynamic and growing business.
