Job summary

WA Country Health Service invites applications for a casual food service team member to provide a high standard of meals and ensure reliable menu distribution and collection while working with the health care team on patients’ dietary needs.

You will follow safety and hygiene policies, participate in training for food-handling standards, and coordinate with clinical staff to support patient nutrition. A flexible, reliable team player is essential for this role.

Job description

Position Profile: To provide a high and reliable standard of duties as a member of the food service team and provide and control efficient menu distribution and collection and liaise with health care team on patients’ dietary needs.
The occupant of this position is required to demonstrate a positive commitment to modelling our organisational values, safety and quality improvement and the Code of Conduct in all aspects of their employment. Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, standards and legislation including Confidentiality and Work Health and Safety policies is mandatory.
This is a Casual appointment, with the possibility of fixed term and/or permanency.

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. Suitability Criteria
  • Ability to follow safe work practices, procedures and instructions
  • Possess knowledge of Dietary Guidelines and be prepared to undertake training for Certificate in Hygiene for Food Handlers
  • Commitment to hygiene, infection prevention and safe food handling requirements
  • Ability to work respectfully and communicate effectively with clinical, support services and operational staff, patients and visitors
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to complete tasks to required standards
