Job summary

Anglesea Primary School, part of the Department of Education Victoria, is seeking a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader to implement a whole-school approach to mental health across our primary setting.

You will work with teachers, families and external services to promote wellbeing, identify needs, and establish referral pathways, with a focus on inclusive practice and early intervention.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to inform and influence colleagues involved in student wellbeing and learning.
• Ability to input into development, implementation and evaluation of wellbeing processes.
• Ability to support students’ mental health, wellbeing or learning through school connections.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents and staff.
• Ability to influence proposals and involve experts to strengthen cases.

Responsibilities

• Promote a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing among students, staff and families.
• Support staff to embed evidence-based mental health strategies and build literacy.
• Collaborate to inform and improve teaching and wellbeing across the school.
• Establish clear referral pathways internally and externally for assessment and intervention.
• Coordinate targeted mental health support with regional staff, wellbeing teams and families.
• Contribute to the school's wellbeing team.
