Job summary

Western Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team at Burnside PARC in Melbourne. You will contribute clinical expertise, participate in assessments, and ensure standards of care are met in a collaborative mental health setting.

The role focuses on functional assessments, development and review of recovery plans, and delivering activity-focused therapy with opportunities to train other staff in sensory modulation and related interventions.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers.
• Commitment to ongoing professional self-development.
• Strong writing skills and ability to promptly prepare case assessments and discharge summaries.

Responsibilities

• Participate in collaborative mental health assessment with MHCSS staff and consumer.
• Collaborate with consumers, families, carers and MHCSS partner staff in developing and reviewing Individual Recovery Plans/Treatment Plans.
• Conduct Occupational Therapy Assessments to identify occupational performance issues and sensory modulation preferences.
• Provide activity- and participation-focused treatment approaches and train other staff in these methods.
