Job summary

Mercy Health in Victoria is offering a part-time fixed-term Social Worker role (0.8 EFT), commencing 8 Feb 2027 and finishing 04 Feb 2029. The position provides a rotational program across Wyndham and Hobson's Bay, with opportunities to work in bed-based, residential/rehabilitation, and community settings.

The role supports a structured training program and requires evidence of professional registration with the AASW, a social work degree, and current checks and vaccination status.

Qualifications

• Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Proof of influenza vaccination and other vaccinations per health orders.
• Australian working rights to work 64 hours per fortnight.
• Full Victorian Driver's License.

About the opportunity

• - Part time, fixed term (0.8 EFT - 64 hours per fortnight) commencing 8 Feb 2027- 04th February 2029
• - Rotational program across Wyndham and Hobson's Bay areas with opportunities to enhance skills in bed-based, residential / rehabilitation and community settings (potential for shift work in the second year)
• - Incorporates a thorough orientation, paid study days, structured training both internal and external, anddiscipline specific clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions
• - Supported to develop skills in providing high quality client-focused Social Work interventions to clients, their family and carers. This will be incorporated in a holistic, recovery oriented, strengths based and culturally sensitive approach in line with the organisational values
• - Be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, and provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers in a high-growth metropolitan mental health program

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• - A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• - Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
• - Have full Australian working rights (must be able to work a minimum of 64 hours per fortnight)
• - Full driver's licence (particularly for second year community rotation)
• - Approved degree in Social Work and current/eligible registration with the AASW
• - Current Victorian Driver's License
