Job summary

Government schools is seeking an Assistant Men's Group Co-ordinator for the Connected Beginnings program in Mildura. The role entails coordinating Deadly Dads and other groups, providing on-site support during events, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.

The position supports men’s groups, collaborates with the Community Engagement team, and may require after-hours work to troubleshoot and set up events. On-site presence is expected during program events.

Qualifications

• SC1: Strong cultural understanding of barriers faced by Aboriginal families in Mildura and the Mallee region.
• SC2: Ability to complete administrative tasks on time and to a high standard.
• SC3: Ability to work with stakeholders and services.
• SC4: Ability to coordinate community group activities and events.

Responsibilities

• Assist and implement cultural activities and knowledge.
• Develop and maintain rapport with services in the community.
• Develop and maintain connections with the community.
• Work within a team and provide support when required.
• Help with setting up and packing up for events/activities.
• Attend men groups and assist the men.
• Be able to work alone when required.
• Work with other teams to embed cultural knowledge in weekly events.
• Understand education for children and their barriers.
