Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Parkville, Melbourne, is seeking a Medical Scientist to join Nexomics in the Pathology Clinical Trials team. You will perform molecular testing including DNA/RNA extraction, next-generation sequencing, PCR and ctDNA analyses for global clinical trials.

The role suits someone with prior diagnostic molecular lab experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask and improve processes while meeting tight timelines.

Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Salary range between $63,674 – $91,785 + salary packaging + 12% super + 5 weeks annual leave + monthly ADO

About the team

Nexomics is a dedicated clinical trial division within the Peter MaCallum Cancer Centre. We deliver specialised clinical trial testing for internal stakeholders such as PCCTU and Research teams, under NATA ISO15189 and ISO17025 accreditation. In addition, Nexomics provides central lab services for clinical trials for commercial sponsors, CROs and biopharma companies globally.

About the role

A Medical Scientist performing molecular testing as part of our Pathology Clinical Trials team (known Nexomics). This role would suit Medical Scientists who have had previous experience within a diagnostic molecular laboratory and who have performed tasks such as DNA/RNA extraction, next-generation sequencing, PCR, ctDNA and routine molecular duties. Previous experience in clinical trials would be highly regarded.

This role would suit a candidate that enjoys working in a dynamic environment, can effectively communicate with their co-workers to ensure that all testing is completed within appropriate time frames and can manage and prioritise multiple tasks. We provide testing for a number of global clinical trials, so strong written and verbal communication skills are essential when liaising with our sponsors.

• Minimum qualification of Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), a BSc or equivalent in a relevant area of Genetics or Molecular Biology
• Relevant experience as a Medical Scientist in molecular pathology or genetics laboratory
