Job summary

You will handle appointments, billing, records, and communications across phone, email and face to face, while maintaining privacy and contributing to a respectful team culture.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the practice.
• Managing patient appointments, bookings, check-ins, and billing.
• Processing Medicare, DVA, and private billings.
• Medical records management.
• Tracking and processing test results, referrals, and correspondence.
• Communicating professionally with patients and the practice team via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming practice environment.
• Supporting WHS requirements and collaborating within the healthcare team.

The Discovery Health Centre is a newly established General Practice with Specialist Consulting Suites located in Mount Pleasant, conveniently close to Mater Hospital. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our growing team on a casual basis. Current clinic operating hours are Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Suitable candidates will receive training to assist in the operation of specialist consulting clinics as well if required.

Experience in Best practice/ Medical director software

Key responsibilities

• Opening and closing the practice
• Managing patient appointments, bookings, check-ins, and billing
• Processing Medicare, DVA, and private billings
• Medical records management
• Tracking and processing test results, referrals, and correspondence
• Communicating professionally with patients, specialists, healthcare providers, and the practice team via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming practice environment
• Supporting workplace health and safety requirementsWorking collaboratively within the healthcare team
