Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to join the Antenna Test Infrastructure team in Redmond, WA. You will design, build, and commission mechanical test fixtures, automation, and tooling to validate satellite and user-terminal hardware for high-throughput testing in RF OTA and thermal chambers.

Responsibilities include full lifecycle from concept to factory-floor integration, PDLC, FEA-driven validation, BOM management in NX/Teamcenter, and

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering, or related field.
Experience with 3D CAD, FEA, and design for manufacturability.
3+ years in mechanical design and industrial automation, including robotics.
Experience with NX and PLM systems like Teamcenter for part modeling and drawings.
Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Experience programming industrial robots and integrating machine-vision systems.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and commission mechanical test fixtures and automation for high-throughput validation.
Develop control electronics and robot-automation architectures.
Create 2D drawings and 3D models in NX/Teamcenter; manage BOMs.
Perform structural and thermal analysis (FEA) to validate designs.
Operate precision metrology equipment to verify alignment and repeatability.
Plan and manage lab layout, procurement, and vendor coordination.
Lead end-to-end design projects from concept to factory integration.
Collaborate with RF, thermal, and manufacturing teams on test infrastructure.
Develop automated pipelines for inspection and data acquisition.
