CAF Rail Australia in Dubbo is seeking a Mechanical Warranty Technician to support regional rail vehicle maintenance. Based in Dubbo, you will ensure corrective maintenance aligns with CAF policies and safety standards, reporting to the Warranty Manager.

You will diagnose faults, repair mechanical and pneumatic systems, inspect rolling stock, and update the Maintenance Management System. The role requires autonomy, reliability, and the ability to work rostered shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate in mechanical qualifications is required.
• Experience in rail or airline industry preferred.
• Electrical work experience is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Carrying out corrective maintenance on CAF rolling stock to meet production plan and CAF policies.
• Fault finding and rectification using mechanical and pneumatic schematics.
• Inspecting bodywork, roofs and undercarriages for wear or damage.
• Repairing and replacing parts.
• Carrying out checks on brakes and couplings.
• Taking apart, testing and reassembling mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Writing reports and updating the Maintenance Management System to reflect task status.
• Ensuring tasks meet the quality requirements of railway standards.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment per WHS guidelines.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Warranty Technician, based in Dubbo, to ensure the overall smooth and efficient operation of the Regional Rail Vehicles corrective maintenance in line with CAF policies and procedures, reporting to the Warranty Manager. Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out in a safe manner in line with Work Health and Safety guidelines.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carrying out corrective maintenance on all aspects of CAF rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan and in line with CAF policies and procedures.
• Innovative and astute fault finding and rectification skills using mechanical and pneumatic schematics.
• Inspecting bodywork, roofs and undercarriages for wear and tear or damage.
• Repairing and replacing parts.
• Carrying out checks on brakes and couplings.
• Taking apart, testing and reassembling mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Writing reports and updating the Maintenance Management System to reflect the status of tasks.
• Ensuring tasks carried out meet the quality requirements of the relevant Railway standards.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all Australians health and safety, quality and environmental legislative requirements.

PROFILE

Education:

• Certificate in Mechanical qualifications.

Experience:

• Previous experience within the rail or airline industry preferably.
• Previous experience with electrical work is beneficial.
• Basic computer skills.

• Positive and professional manner.
