Job summary

Western Power's South Metro Depot in Forrestdale is hiring a Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Mechanic. This hands‑on role helps keep our fleet running safely and reliably, with a focus on heavy vehicles and plant equipment close to home.

You’ll bring a trade qualification (AQF3) in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Auto Electrics or Mechanical Fitting, solid experience with heavy vehicles, and confidence in diagnostics, hydraulics and low‑voltage electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (AQF3) in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Auto Electrics or Mechanical Fitting.
• Solid experience with heavy vehicles or plant equipment.
• Confidence with diagnostics, hydraulics and low-voltage electrical systems.
• WA C Class Driver’s Licence (essential) and HR Licence.
• EWP, Dogging or Forklift tickets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Completing inspections and safety checks.

Your Day-to-Day

In this hands‑on role, you’ll help keep our fleet running safely and reliably, working on a variety of heavy vehicles and plant equipment.

Key responsibilities:

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Completing inspections and safety checks
