Job summary

Anduril Industries Australia is seeking experienced maintenance technicians to diagnose, inspect, repair, refurbish and test Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) in Sydney. You will maintain mechanical systems, perform routine tests, and assist in developing SOPs for field operations.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in mechanical maintenance, strong hand-tool skills, and the ability to obtain NV2 clearance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in maintenance of mechanical systems or structures.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (drawings, work instructions, schematics).
• Trade background in maritime, automotive, aviation or equivalent high-tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, repair, refurbishment, overhaul and upgrade of AUV mechanical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct component and subsystem-level tests.
• Operate MMS and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts usage.
• Conduct underway sea testing of AUVs from factory or maintenance environments.
• Assist with development and review of SOPs and documentation for AUV maintenance operations.

Anduril Australia is seeking team members to diagnose, inspect, repair, refurbish and test Autonomous Underwater Vessels (AUVs, Robot Submarines!), continuously improving System reliability performance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform routine inspection, repair, refurbishment, overhaul and upgrade of AUV mechanical systems and equipment

• Diagnose mechanical issues, conducting component and subsystem-level tests, collaborating with engineers and other trades to resolve complex issues

• Operate the Maintenance Management System (MMS), ensuring accurate records of maintenance activities, parts and consumables consumption

• Conduct underway Sea testing of AUVs leaving factory or maintenance environments

• Support development, review and trial of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for AUV maintenance activities operations

• Assist with the preparation of risk assessments for maintenance and test operations, identifying and implementing mitigations

• Provide constructive feedback to design and manufacturing teams for ongoing evolution

• Be able to be deployed to the field to perform emergency repairs when necessary, potentially in challenging conditions or adverse weather

• Support customer representatives in gaining skills and experience to support fielded AUVs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

• 4+ years experience in maintenance of mechanical system or structures

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-tool skills

• Vocational training in mechanical trades or associate degree ideal

• Trade background in Maritime, Automotive, Aviation or equivalent high-tech industry.

• Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation (mechanical drawings, work instructions, equipment schematics etc.)

• Experience performing component, subsystem and system level test and diagnosing/escalating issues discovered during these processes

• Exposure to operation of Maintenance Management Systems

• Maritime/forklift/crane qualifications desirable, not essential

• Extremely organized and detail-oriented

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• A sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture

• Ability to obtain and maintain a NV2 Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
