Job summary

EnerMech in Gladstone is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for a casual role delivering on-site and workshop mechanical tasks. You will perform fitting, welding, assembly and installation, while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.

You will lead by example, supervise Trade Assistants and Apprentices as needed, and participate in toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in shutdowns or fixed plant maintenance is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mechanical Trade is essential.
• White Card, Confined Space, and gas test atmospheres required.
• Experience with hydraulic and water pumps is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience in shutdowns or fixed plant maintenance advantageous.
• Supervisory experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, welding, assembly and installation on site and in workshop.
• Lead on mechanical maintenance, shutdowns and fixed plant work.

The role:

EnerMech is seeking experiencedMechanical Fitters to join our team in Gladstone. This is a Casual position suited to a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship and thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment.

You will carry out and lead fitting, welding, assembly, and installation works both on project sites and within our workshop. This role requires a proactive approach to safety, quality, and communication while working closely with workshop and project managers, trades personnel, and QHSE representatives.

• Perform general fitting, machining, and fabrication work (site & workshop)
• Carry out on-site removal and installation of mechanical components
• Execute general shutdown mechanical duties and maintenance on fixed plant equipment
• Conduct flange management and mechanical assembly work
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Supervise and mentor Trade Assistants and Apprentices when required
• Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
• Participate regularly in safety and toolbox meetings

Requirements

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Swagelok and tubing experience highly regarded
• 5 years experience with hydraulic and water pumps, including hose replacement and servicing
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Proven ability to maintain high standards of safety and quality
• Experience in shutdowns or fixed plant maintenance advantageous
• Previous supervisory experience advantageous
