Job summary

Rangedale is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Altona North team. The role focuses on maintenance of rotating equipment and process plant components across oil & gas, water, and manufacturing contexts.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment installation, alignment, and welding, with CMMS documentation and reporting to operations. A solid foundation in mechanical trades and on-site teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) is the minimum qualification required.
• Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Maximo) is preferred.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Good reporting and communication skills with operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled/preventative and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, aerators, fans).
• Install/overhaul pumps, motors, fans, and alignment of machinery.
• Maintain and troubleshoot gearboxes; bearings, seals, and lubrication practices.
• Repair pipework and perform pipe flange alignment; understand pipe strain.
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems; assist with fabrication/welding (MIG/TIG/ARC).
• Analyze failures, conduct root cause analysis and document findings.
