Job summary

CrewSELECT Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters or Fitter Machinists for a high-value water treatment project in Rockhampton. This short-term commissioning role offers strong hourly rates and the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure.

Role focuses on commissioning across mechanical systems, punch listing, defect rectification, and final fit-off of pumps, piping, and valves. Immediate start for qualified trades with White Card and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified mechanical fitter with commissioning or project completion experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and P&IDs.
• Background in water treatment, utilities, oil & gas, or heavy industry is a plus.
• White Card held and ready for site work.
• Strong fault finding and hands-on commissioning skills.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning across mechanical systems.
• Identify punch lists, defects, and rectify issues.
• Perform alignment, installation checks, and final fit-off of equipment.
• Work with pumps, piping, valves, and pump stations.
• Assist with pressure testing and system start-up.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and commissioning teams.

The Role
