Qualifications

Permanent Full-Time Role – Western Sydney (Camellia)

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 + super (depending on experience)

Hours: Day shift, Monday to Friday (7am start)

Start: January 2026

German Butchery is a family‑owned smallgoods manufacturer and a trusted supplier to major supermarkets and national meal solution providers. We are passionate about producing continental smallgoods the traditional way, to the highest quality and food safety standards.

Due to consistent growth, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to support our team and keep our plant running safely and reliably.

This is a hands‑on industrial maintenance role focused on preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with production, QA and our onsite electrician to ensure equipment uptime, safe operation and compliance in a food manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities
  1. Preventative maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown repairs across production equipment and site services
  2. Maintain and repair machinery including:
  3. fillers, mixers, mincers, smokehouses, thermoformer, conveyors, tumblers, injectors plus compressors, boilers and refrigeration interfaces
  4. Hydraulic and pneumatic diagnostics (pumps, valves, hoses, pressure testing and safe replacement)
  5. Overhauls and component rebuilds (bearings, seals, gearboxes, drives, pumps)
  6. Equipment strip‑down/clean‑down support and “audit‑ready” maintenance practices
  7. Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards and parts usage
  8. Coordinate contractors when required and help manage critical spares
  9. Support WHS, GMP/HACCP and food safety standards at all times
What we’re looking for
  1. Trade‑qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
  2. 3+ years industrial maintenance experience (food manufacturing or FMCG highly regarded)
  3. Strong fault‑finding skills and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance
  4. Sound understanding of hydraulics/pneumatics and safe systems of work
  5. Able to work independently, prioritise jobs and communicate clearly with operations
  6. Physically fit and comfortable working in a production environment (including chilled areas)
Highly regarded
  1. Basic fabrication/welding skills
  2. Exposure to HACCP/GMP environments and audit readiness
