MAB Engineering Services in Wendouree, Ballarat, Victoria, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support engineering activities. You will help design, manufacture, assemble, test, operate, maintain and repair mechanical equipment, plant and machinery, ensuring specifications and quality are met.

You'll work closely with the Director and production staff to ensure products and components are built to spec, tested and maintained to high standards, with emphasis on safety and efficient

Qualificações

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Mechanical assembly, testing and maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for machined and fabricated products.
• Assist in design and modification of components, jigs, fixtures and tooling by preparing sketches, drawings and calculations.
• Assemble and install mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and hydraulic systems from drawings and specifications.
• Carry out functional, pressure and performance tests on mechanical and hydraulic systems and record results.
• Inspect materials and finished components using precision measuring instruments and non‑destructive testing to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance and repair of workshop machinery, including CNC machines, grinders, welding equipment and compressors.
• Collect and analyse test and inspection data, investigate defects and prepare technical reports.
• Select suitable tools and equipment, and estimate material, machine and labour costs for quoting and job planning.
• Maintain accurate quality and maintenance records and follow workplace health and safety procedures.
