Redgold Pty Ltd in Victoria is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician to support farm-based processing operations. Based in Wemen, the role involves designing, testing and maintaining mechanical systems used in planting, production and packaging lines.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor-level engineering qualification or equivalent experience, and exposure to farming or horticulture is desirable. Salary is A$79,423 per year plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience in farming or horticulture settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work.
• Assist in designing and modifying mechanical equipment and plant for planting, production and harvesting.
• Select tools and equipment for installation, repair and servicing of farm processing machinery.
• Assemble, install and maintain mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems, conveyors and packing lines.
• Estimate material requirements and machine needs to support farm-based processing operations.
• Support engineers in continuous improvement projects to enhance plant reliability and productivity.
