The Melbourne Building Service team is currently engaged in a broad portfolio of projects, with a strong emphasis on key initiatives in transport, data centres, defence, civic infrastructure, and commercial sectors. What you’ll do

As a Senior member of the team, you will be an Associate level Mechanical Engineer within our Property and Building Services team. You will play a key role in delivering innovative and efficient mechanical design solutions across a range of single and multi‑disciplinary projects. This position offers the opportunity to lead projects and contribute to larger initiatives, while actively supporting the development of junior engineers.

  • Provide mechanical design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Deliver best practice and outcomes for clients, saving on costs and time
  • Take lead on medium to large size engineering design projects and support major projects
  • Communicate effectively with all external and internal stakeholders and project teams
  • Be a supporting figure and mentor for lesser experienced engineers
  • Build solid client relationships and recognize business development opportunities (desirable)
  • Represent and promote the business with the local and regional markets
About you
  • Hold a recognized Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing mechanical services systems (air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems).
  • Circa 10+ years experience as a Mechanical Engineer within Building Services
  • Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design.
  • Proven project experience in the building services sector across a range of large projects
  • Possess a working knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
  • Ensure registration (or eligibility for registration) in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building / construction industry.
  • Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing work, and meeting tight deadlines.
