WSP in Australia in Adelaide is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team. You will design and deliver mechanical systems, work with senior engineers, and contribute to sustainable, practical solutions across diverse projects.

Based in Adelaide, you will develop HVAC, ventilation, heating and cooling concepts, prepare calculations and documentation, liaise with clients and architects, and support project delivery from concept through to completion.

Competenze

• 3–6 years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and related systems.
• Experience in Australian engineering consultancy or building services environment.
• Knowledge of NCC and Australian Standards is advantageous.

About The Opportunity

Our Property & Buildings team delivers multidisciplinary engineering solutions across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, defence, education, healthcare, data centres, civic and major infrastructure projects.

Based in Adelaide, you’ll join a collaborative Building Services team where you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems while gaining exposure to technically challenging projects.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll work closely with senior engineers, designers and other disciplines to deliver practical, sustainable and high-quality engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Support the delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept design through to completion


• Develop designs for HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and associated mechanical systems


• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports and design documentation


• Work collaboratively with electrical, fire, hydraulics, structural and other engineering disciplines


• Assist with project coordination to meet scope, budget and program requirements


• Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction


• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other project stakeholders


• Apply the NCC, relevant Australian Standards and industry requirements to your designs


• Contribute to technical excellence and continuous improvement within the Mechanical team

About You

• 3–6 years’ experience in mechanical building services engineering


• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline


• Experience designing HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and associated building services systems
  
• Experience within an Australian engineering consultancy or similar building services environment


• Exposure to sectors such as commercial, defence, healthcare, education, data centres or infrastructure will be highly regarded


• Working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• A collaborative approach and willingness to continue developing your technical and project delivery capabilities


• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
