Job summary

Cleared Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 4- to 6-month contract in West Melbourne. You should have solid experience with SolidWorks and a background in electro-mechanical projects, working on design, manufacture and production of cutting-edge mechanical systems for Defence.

The role covers the design of mechanical systems from concept to prototype and production, on-site 5 days a week (half day Fridays).

Qualifications

• Must have a Mechanical engineering degree qualification with a strong understanding of design.
• Experience with electro-mechanical housing design
• Experience working within a production environment
• Experience with Solidworks
• Experience with 3D CAD models, 2D Drawings and BOM's
• Applicants must be Australia Citizen eligible and meet ITAR requirements
• Ability to work on site 5 days a week

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of all relevant documents
• Design Mechanical systems/housing units from initial concept through to production
• Support design reviews, engineering change requests and compliance documentation
• Apply LEAN practices to improve plant efficiency
• Assist the Production team with test equipment, maintenance and technical support.
• Assist the Quality team with product fault diagnosis and repair.
• Assist the Engineering team with verification and validation test activities.

Are you a Mechanical Engineer with direct experience with background in SolidWorks? Have you got experience in design and looking for a new contract position? We currently have a 4-6 month contract position in West Melbourne for a Mechanical Engineer who has a proven track record with SolidWorks and experience working within electro-mechanical projects to join an industry leader. In this role you will work with an industry leader on the design, manufacture and production of cutting edge mechanical systems being developed to direct enhance capability across Defence.

You will be responsible for the design of mechanical systems/housing from initial concept through to prototype and production.

This role is in the Defence domain but doesn't require you to hold a current security clearance.

This role is 5 days on site with half day Fridays.
