Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic tools.
  • Carry out vehicle repairs, part replacements, and reassembly to manufacturer standards.
  • Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Test and adjust vehicles to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Use computerised diagnostic equipment on modern vehicle systems.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explain required work, and provide accurate estimates.
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of a relevant Certificate IV in Automotive Repair / Service (or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on work experience as an automotive technician.

The ideal candidates will be an experienced automotive technician with a genuine passion for vehicle repair and maintenance. These people will combine strong technical competence with excellent customer service skills, demonstrating the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues accurately and communicate findings clearly to vehicle owners.

The successful candidates will be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development. They will be a reliable team player who can work both independently and collaboratively, mentor junior staff, and contribute positively to the dealership's culture of excellence. The candidates should have experience working in a dealership or automotive service centre environment, with demonstrated expertise in light vehicle repair and a track record of delivering quality workmanship. A background in Mazda vehicle servicing or multi-brand automotive repair is advantageous but not essential, as ongoing Mazda Australia training will be provided.

Must Haves
  • Qualified Automotive Technician with experience across light vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of petrol engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking, and electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to diagnose faults using computerised diagnostic tools and manufacturer software.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical specifications.
  • Confident use of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
  • High standard of workmanship, meeting manufacturer and safety requirements.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and maintain accuracy in repairs.
  • Valid Australian driver's licence.
  • Ability to safely drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
