Job summary

PPG Clayton is seeking a Warehouse Operative / Raw Materials Operator on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, moving and distributing materials while maintaining safety and housekeeping.

You will read production schedules, pick and distribute materials, operate forklifts and Hi-Rise equipment, and ensure accuracy of stock locations. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail and adherence to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse processes and inventory management.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and production schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid Forklift Truck licence/certification.
• Experience operating Hi-Rise equipment.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials, products, and equipment.
• Load and unload deliveries from trucks and other transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine material handling requirements.
• Pick, gather, and distribute materials to designated departments or locations as required.
• Transport materials between receiving, production, storage, and shipping areas.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or storage bins according to established procedures, product codes, size, type, style, or colour.
• Maintain accurate stock locations and support inventory control activities.
• Operate material handling equipment, including gas-powered and electric-powered forklift trucks.
• Move, stack, load, and unload raw materials, components, finished goods, and other products safely.
• Operate high-reach (Hi-Rise) equipment to place and retrieve materials from storage racks where required.
• Ensure all warehouse activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with general warehouse duties as required.
