Job summary

Gitsham Automotive, based at Edinburgh Parks in South Australia, seeks a senior manufacturing leader to drive operations across the site.

You will oversee end-to-end production processes, from sheet processing to final assembly, leading a skilled team to deliver high-quality, on-time products for domestic and international customers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in manufacturing leadership, including 5+ years as Manufacturing, Production or Operations Manager.
• Proven record in production planning and scheduling with measurable DIFOT.
• Supply chain, purchasing and inventory management experience.
• Full command of ERP/MRP systems, SYSPRO highly regarded.
• Metal fabrication expertise across sheet processing, punch/laser, machining, bending, welding and powder coating.
• Experience leading an existing team through growth.
• Strong WHS, ISO and budget management capability.
• Automotive, ADR, Lean, fleet, Defence or export supply experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement and drive the master production plan and schedule, and hold the team to it every shift.
• Secure supply, manage supplier performance and inventory, and control material cost.
• Act as business owner of SYSPRO, keeping BOMs, routings, work orders, MRP and inventory accurate and in real time.
• Deliver in full, on time (DIFOT) to Fleet, Defence, domestic and export customers.
• Apply forensic attention to detail to drive productivity, utilisation and throughput.
• Manage the site operating budget and cost-per-unit performance.
• Ensure new products are manufacturable, efficient and launched on time.
• Develop and lead a high-performance, safety-first culture.
• Drive our ISO 9001 Quality Management System and lead the implementation of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety.
• Lead, develop and lift the performance of an existing, capable team to maximise output, operational efficiency and excellence.

Job description

Driven by expansion and rapid growth, this new senior role reports to the C-Suite and takes operational responsibility for our manufacturing site at Edinburgh Parks, South Australia. You will lead our established Production team and work closely with our Design team.

You will oversee the entire manufacturing process under one roof: from raw sheet processing, punch and laser cutting, machining, bending and forming, welding, pre-treatment and powder coating, assembly, and on-vehicle installation.

We manufacture some of Australia's most advanced Australian-made, crash-tested automotive products and accessories. Built to the highest quality standards, supplying some of the largest brands, fleets, government agencies and Defence organisations in Australia and internationally.
