Job summary

RSM Australia is seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional to advise clients on IT and cyber security risk management across applications, databases, operating systems and network infrastructure. You will lead cyber risk assessments, manage multiple engagements, mentor staff and contribute to business development while staying ahead of industry trends.

You will interact with senior stakeholders, deliver high-quality reports, and ensure budget and delivery timelines are met across

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in Cyber Security, IT Audit, Risk Management, Internal Controls or related Professional Services environments.
  • Proven experience leading security risk assessments, cyber reviews and audits against recognised security and governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of IT environments, including applications, databases, operating systems, networks and project delivery.
  • Ability to interpret technical findings and communicate practical recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client engagements and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring, developing and managing team performance.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly analytical with strong report writing and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Innovative mindset with a passion for identifying risks, driving improvements and developing effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on IT and cyber security risk management across applications, databases, operating systems and network infrastructure, delivering practical recommendations and high-quality reports.
  • Lead cyber, technology and third-party risk assessments, evaluating the effectiveness of controls and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Manage multiple engagements, ensuring quality delivery, budget adherence and timely completion.
  • Mentor and develop team members, oversee resource planning and ensure compliance with methodologies and professional standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance and technical reviews, escalating complex issues and recommending solutions.
  • Build strong client relationships, engage with senior stakeholders and develop tailored solutions to meet business needs.
  • Support business development activities, including proposals, quotes and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Contribute to divisional leadership, strategy, staffing and internal management initiatives.
  • Maintain commercial accountability through effective budgeting, fee management and profitability oversight.
  • Stay abreast of emerging industry, technology and cyber security trends, presenting confidently in both internal and client-facing environments.
