Job summary

RetireAustralia is seeking an experienced risk professional to lead the ongoing development of our enterprise risk framework and strengthen risk capability across the organisation. This 12-month fixed-term opportunity offers exposure across operational, strategic, financial, regulatory and emerging risks with influence at executive and governance levels.

Brisbane is preferred, but we welcome applicants from the East Coast and those near Brisbane and Erina.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, governance or compliance.
• Experience developing or significantly improving risk frameworks, systems or governance processes.
• Strong understanding of risk registers, controls, assurance, risk appetite and risk reporting.
• Experience preparing reports, dashboards and insights for leadership or governance forums.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge.

• Drive enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, treatment and monitoring activities.
• Oversee enterprise risk registers, controls, treatment plans and governance records.
• Deliver risk reporting, insights and key risk indicators to leadership and governance forums.
• Partner with senior leaders to strengthen risk ownership and support risk-informed decision making.
• Lead risk reviews, assurance activities and the monitoring of control effectiveness.
• Provide strategic advice on risk, governance and compliance matters across the organisation.
• Build organisational risk capability through training, guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.

This 12 month fixed-term opportunity offers exposure across operational, strategic, financial, regulatory and emerging risks, with the opportunity to influence decision making at executive and governance level.

While Brisbane is our preferred location, we're open to applications from candidates across Australia's East Coast, particularly those located near our offices in Brisbane and Erina (NSW Central Coast).

We're committed to flexibility and will consider hybrid working arrangements, along with both part-time and full-time employment options for the right candidate.

About the Role

• Reporting to the National Manager - Procurement & Risk, you will:
• Lead the development and maturity of RetireAustralia's enterprise risk framework and governance practices.
• Drive enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, treatment and monitoring activities.
• Oversee enterprise risk registers, controls, treatment plans and governance records.
• Deliver risk reporting, insights and key risk indicators to leadership and governance forums.
• Partner with senior leaders to strengthen risk ownership and support risk-informed decision making.
• Lead risk reviews, assurance activities and the monitoring of control effectiveness.
• Provide strategic advice on risk, governance and compliance matters across the organisation.
• Build organisational risk capability through training, guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, governance or compliance.
• Experience developing or significantly improving risk frameworks, systems or governance processes.
• Strong understanding of risk registers, controls, assurance, risk appetite and risk reporting.
• Experience preparing reports, dashboards and insights for leadership or governance forums.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and constructively challenge.
• The ability to translate risk requirements into practical business solutions.
• Experience in retirement living, aged care, healthcare, property or another regulated industry will be highly regarded.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional risk, governance or compliance certifications are highly regarded.
• Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
