Step Into a Strategic Leadership Role That Matters

Odyssey Victoria is looking for a full-time Executive Manager - Residential Programs , based in Richmond, VIC . This senior leadership role reports to the CEO and is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical performance of OV’s residential treatment services across Victoria. You’ll lead an experienced team of Program Managers and oversee critical sites including Circuit Breaker (Benalla), Lower Plenty TC, and the Hope Centre (Bairnsdale).

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Leading high-quality, trauma-informed residential AOD programs and service expansion
  • Coaching, guiding, and supporting managers to build values-aligned, high-performing teams
  • Identifying and securing new funding and service growth opportunities
  • Ensuring strong outcomes in safety, compliance, contract delivery, and accreditation
  • Driving innovation, best practice, and therapeutic excellence across all programs
  • Overseeing service budgets, capital planning, and resource allocation
  • Representing OV in sector partnerships, government discussions, and reform initiatives
  • Fostering a culture of psychological safety, feedback, empathy, and open communication

Please note: Occasional travel to residential sites will be required.

Is This You?

To thrive in this role, you will bring a relevant qualification in health, social work, psychology, nursing, allied health, or health administration. You’ll also have a strong background in the AOD, mental health, or related human services sectors , and experience working in not-for-profit leadership.

You are a natural coach and relationship builder , known for being grounded, approachable, and emotionally intelligent. You listen deeply, build trust easily, and bring people together through warmth, authenticity, and a people-first mindset.

You’re comfortable navigating complexity, receiving feedback openly, and stepping into discomfort as a space for personal and professional growth. You lead gently but with conviction, remain calm in ambiguity, and take initiative without needing to be asked. You hold yourself to a high standard of integrity, staying deeply aligned with organisational values and expectations.

You will also demonstrate
  • Strong financial, contract, and operational management capability
  • Effective communication across internal and external stakeholders
  • Capacity to work autonomously and respond to changing priorities
  • A collaborative leadership style that nurtures accountability and development

  • Experience with therapeutic community models
  • Worked in regional or residential care environments
  • Existing sector relationships across government and service partners
