Job description

This influential role leads the Office of the CEO and provides strategic governance, planning and policy support. Responsible for a small, high-performing team, the position oversees corporate planning, governance frameworks, policy development, industry regulation, and executive support functions.

Working across the organisation and with external stakeholders, the role identifies emerging issues, coordinates strategic initiatives, and provides trusted advice that informs decision-making and organisational performance. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) meets its obligations, delivers agreed commitments, and achieves performance targets.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have as a minimum:

  • Experience providing strategic advice and delivering outcomes in a complex governance, legislative or regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed recommendations.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and manage confidential matters with discretion.
