Job summary

The Shire of Broome is seeking a dynamic Manager Major Projects to lead planning, procurement and governance of the Council's major capital works. You will drive delivery to meet community and organisational objectives with a focus on safety and quality.

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, the role requires substantial project management experience on complex infrastructure programs, with tertiary qualifications and formal PM certification.

Job Description

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the newly created role of Manager Major Projects.

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, this role is responsible for delivering significant infrastructure projects safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with approved quality standards, statutory requirements and stakeholder expectations.

This role will lead the planning, procurement, delivery and governance of the Council's major capital works and strategic infrastructure projects to achieve community, economic and organisational objectives.

About You

As our preferred candidate you will have significant project management experience, working on complex infrastructure projects and substantial capital works programs. You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, construction management or a related discipline, with formal project management certification.

Highly effective contract administration skills, sound problem solving and decision-making skills as well as excellent financial and budget management skills are also a must.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Base salary range between $145,000-$165,000 per annum (depending on qualifications, skills and experience).
• In addition to base salary there are generous Location Allowance of $11,783 and Rental Housing Allowance ($22,464) and employer matched superannuation.
• Shire housing at market rent available for candidates employed from outside of Broome (able to be salary sacrificed).
• Unrestricted Private use of a vehicle is offered
• Relocation assistance up to $10,000 for candidates outside Broome.
