Job description

Don’t come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.

At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As a global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)

We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do

As Manager Logistics, you will lead our materials management, inventory, warehousing, logistics and marine functions, ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective supply chain outcomes across our operations.

With a strong focus on materials and inventory performance, you will lead experienced SMEs, partner with operational stakeholders and service providers, and drive greater consistency, efficiency and value across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop SMEs across inventory, materials management, warehousing, logistics and marine operations.
  • Drive inventory optimisation, stocking strategies, materials planning and lifecycle management, balancing operational availability with working capital.
  • Provide leadership and governance across warehousing, freight, transport, distribution and marine activities.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that improve service, efficiency, cost and operational performance.
  • Manage key logistics contracts and third-party service providers, ensuring safe, compliant and effective delivery.
  • Use KPIs, data and analytics to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage supply chain risks and maintain effective safety, assurance and governance standards.

What you’ll bring

You are an experienced materials management and supply chain leader who combines strong inventory expertise with the ability to lead specialist teams across a diverse operational portfolio.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong leadership experience in materials management, inventory, supply chain or logistics within a complex operational environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inventory management and optimisation, materials planning, stocking strategies and warehousing.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and experienced SMEs.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, transport, distribution and third-party service provider management.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve supply chain performance while balancing material availability, inventory investment, cost and operational risk.
  • Strong stakeholder and influencing skills, particularly with operational and functional teams.
  • Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system, using data and analytics to support inventory and supply chain decisions.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.

Highly regarded:

  • Oil & Gas, resources, energy or other asset-intensive industry experience.
  • Exposure to offshore logistics and marine operations.
  • Experience supporting emergency or critical supply chain response.

What you’ll get:

Here, you’ll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.
