Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services Brisbane is seeking an experienced investigations leader to manage the Ethical Standards Workplace Investigations Group and oversee complex cases involving suspected criminal conduct, misconduct and breaches of the Code of Conduct.

You will deliver timely, evidence-based advice, guide investigators, manage risk, and ensure investigations are fair, timely and legally compliant. The role includes leading a specialist team and reporting to the Director.

Qualifications

• Accomplished investigations leader with experience managing an investigative function in a large, complex organisation (preferably public sector).
• Sound judgement, strong analytical capability and ability to influence and build trusted strategic relationships.
• Desirable: tertiary qualification in government investigations, workplace inspections or fraud control.

• Lead and direct workplace investigations, balancing legal and policy requirements, complexity, risk, timeliness and trauma-informed practice.
• Provide timely, evidence-based advice on complaints, investigative strategy, resolution options and appropriate outcomes.
• Monitor performance and emerging trends, using data and insights to strengthen ethical culture and decision‑making across QCS.
• Drive continuous improvement in investigative systems, frameworks, procedures and work practices.
• Build productive relationships with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, oversight bodies, regulators and law enforcement agencies.
• Lead people and resources effectively, supporting a capable, resilient and high performing investigations team.

What you will bring

You will be an accomplished investigations leader with demonstrated experience managing an investigative function in a large and complex organisation, ideally within the public sector. You will bring sound judgement, strong analytical capability and a contemporary understanding of investigative practice, together with the ability to influence, communicate clearly and build trusted strategic relationships. Experience establishing and improving investigative policies, systems and frameworks will be important, as will a proven ability to lead teams, manage performance and deliver high-quality outcomes. A relevant tertiary qualification or nationally recognised qualification in government investigations, workplace inspections or fraud control is highly desirable.
