Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC—Melbourne seeks a Manager, Intelligence to lead the Intelligence team and a surge team of Predictive Services Fire and Flood Behaviour Analysts in the State Control Centre's 24/7 Watch Desk.

The role focuses on delivering integrated intelligence, predictive analytics, weather and mapping products to inform tactical and strategic decisions, with standby obligations under the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024.

Qualifications

Experience in intelligence and analytics including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessment utilising a range of information and technologies within a sensitive and confidential environment.
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret client needs to provide high quality intelligence products that influence operational decision making.
Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements (or a relevant equivalent) is desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage and build the capability of a team of intelligence and geospatial and data analytics specialists to ensure the provision of high-quality, accurate and timely intelligence and mapping products that inform planning and decision-making.
Develop, implement and manage a program of work, including relevant processes, systems and frameworks, to ensure the provision of integrated, high quality and high value intelligence products, predictive services, mapping and geospatial data products in a timely manner to key stakeholders.
Facilitate the use of intelligence, mapping and predictive services tools, templates and processes by the Watch Desk, other relevant functions of the SCC and partner agencies.
