CDC Victoria is excited to welcome a professional, people-focused, and motivated Manager, Human Resources to our People and Culture team, based mainly at our Truganina Office. This is an 8-month parental leave position starting in mid-February, offering the chance to make a real impact in a well-established HR function.

As a valued member of the People and Culture leadership team, you’ll work closely with the General Manager, People & Culture to support the daily HR operations of one of Victoria’s largest private bus companies. The role is primarily onsite, but we also offer some flexibility to work hybrid when needed.

With two direct reports, this is a fantastic generalist opportunity—perfect for an experienced Manager or Supervisor to lead the HR function across a diverse and dynamic network of sites throughout Victoria.

Responsibilities

Providing accurate and timely HR advice, support and consultancy services to managers and staff members about HR management, workplace relations and policy and procedure implementation;

Overseeing the management and resolution of escalated grievances and performance management issues;

Managing the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices;

Liaising with external industrial relations advisors, legal representatives and unions;

Leading and managing the provision and analysis of reporting requirements;

Implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategies;

Leading, managing and assisting in local and national project initiatives; and

Contributing to the development, review and promotion of staff engagement action plans to enrich our workplace culture.

Qualifications

Either experience in a Management position within Human Resources, or significant experience in a Team Leader / Supervisor role, with sound knowledge of contemporary HR, ER and IR practices (experience in multi-site organisation highly desirable);

A pragmatic, solution orientated and energetic approach to your work;

A high level of organisational, planning and time management skills, with exceptional personal initiative and attention to detail;

Ability to attend a variety of depots across Victoria;

The ability to work autonomously within a complex, fast-paced and challenging environment;

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the proven ability to positively influence through effective mediation, facilitation and negotiation;

Experience working within a highly unionised workforce;

Full Drivers Licence and access to your own vehicle; and

Diploma HR Management or a related discipline.
