The Organisation

Based in Inner East / City fringe and close to public transport, the client is a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation within a highly regulated environment. They have deep stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively to focus on workforce needs and skills development with a national reach.

Role Summary

Reporting to the COO, the Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance provides best practice governance, risk management and compliance services. The position includes the role of company secretary, providing procedural, governance compliance and support to the Board and relevant sub committees.

In this role you will:
  • Provide high quality advice, support and information to the Board, and relevant sub committees and the organisation regarding governance, risk management, compliance, insurance, contracts, general commercial transactions and legal services
  • Develop, implement and manage a risk‑management framework throughout the organisation, developing its risk appetite, and identifying key risks and the mechanisms needed to manage those risks
  • Ensure the organisation complies with its extensive compliance obligations as a not‑for‑profit entity as well as those resulting from its multiple funding agreements with the federal government
The Person
Qualifications
  • An expert‑level understanding of governance, risk, compliance and records management principles, legislation, and associated systems and practices, ideally in a highly regulated NFP environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an efficient company secretarial function to an organisation
  • Ability to build effective relationships at different levels with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives
  • Ability and experience to manage and mentor direct reporting roles and build an effective, high‑performing team
  • CD Company Secretary and Governance qualifications (e.g. GAICD) or equivalent
The Offer

A salary of circa $150K, plus superannuation commensurate with experience. Attractive NFP salary packaging and hybrid / WFH working options are also available.
