Manager - Finance, Planning and Analysis

Our client is a well-established organisation seeking to appoint a Manager, Finance, Planning and Analysis into a newly created position. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the role from the ground up, working closely with the executive team to build out the finance function's strategic capability as the organisation continues to grow.

About the role:

The Manager Finance, Planning and Analysis will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and performance of the organisation by providing high-quality financial insight, analytics and strategic decision support to the executive team and Board. Leading a high-performing team, the successful candidate will drive value creation while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, compliance and performance. This key leadership role will suit a commercially minded finance professional with a proven track record of delivery in complex, asset intensive environments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the organisation's financial strategy in line with corporate goals and long-term objectives
  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, short and long-term forecasting, financial modelling, management accounting, statutory reporting and internal controls
  • Manage cash flow, treasury and balance sheet integrity, ensuring prudent resource management and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Provide high quality and timely strategic financial advice and recommendations to the executive team, senior leaders and Board, linking financial outcomes to organisational objectives
  • Lead the end-to-end financial planning and budgeting processes with a strong focus on accuracy, transparency and strategic alignment
  • Monitor and analyse commercial performance metrics including cost efficiency, delivery to budget and supplier performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing regular commercial analytics and insights to the executive group
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders including auditors, financial institutions, investors and regulatory bodies
  • Lead, coach and develop the Finance, Planning and Analysis team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative and genuine business partnering culture
  • Build strong partnerships with operational, commercial and project teams to embed financial insight early in planning and decision cycles
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls and reporting to enhance accuracy, timeliness and decision quality
  • Contribute to key strategic documents including the Statement of Corporate Intent, Corporate Plan and long-term organisational vision

You will bring:

  • CPA or CA qualification along with a degree in Finance, Commerce or a related field
  • A proven track record of driving financial performance and delivering strategic outcomes
  • Extensive experience in financial and/or commercial management, including at least five years in a senior leadership capacity
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulatory requirements and best-practice governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience leading financial governance, audit and reporting functions while building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional collaboration as a genuine business partner
  • High level of capability with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP systems such as TechnologyOne or Oracle
  • A current C Class Driver Licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Check
