This flexible role focuses on leading environmental approvals for mining projects while collaborating with senior management. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in the Queensland mining sector, strong knowledge of environmental legislation, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Join a growing mining organisation with a strong project pipeline across Queensland. We’re looking for a Manager, Environmental Approvals to lead environmental approvals for new and existing mining projects.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with the General Manager Environment and senior leadership to deliver results that shape the future of their operations.
Flexible work-from-home arrangements (occasional visits to our southern Gold Coast office).
Direct collaboration with senior management and decision-makers.
Diverse, impactful projects – greenfield and brownfield mining approvals.

Prepare and manage State and Commonwealth environmental approvals for mining projects.
Engage with State and Federal regulators to negotiate approval outcomes.
Manage Environmental Authorities (EAs), EPBC referrals, and offsets.
Lead Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plans (PRCPs) and Estimated Rehabilitation Costs (ERCs).
Oversee technical consultants across multiple disciplines (e.g. ecology, groundwater).
Contribute to life-of-mine forecasting and environmental approvals strategy.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years’ experience in environmental approvals within the Queensland mining industry.
Strong knowledge ofb>Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Enjoys being hands-on, complex problems, and delivering tangible outcomes.
GIS skills highly regarded.
