Job summary

RSM Australia is seeking an experienced Manager to join our Business Advisory team in Sydney. You will partner with clients to deliver strategic and commercial advice, lead and mentor high-performing teams, and contribute to the growth of the firm.

The role requires a CA qualification, 5–7 years in professional services, and strong communication. You will review financial statements, provide value-adding insights, and foster long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce with an Accounting major.
• CA qualification (or equivalent).
• 5–7 years’ experience in professional services.
• Proven experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Autonomous with collaborative approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Review work papers and ensure documentation is maintained.
• Apply deep understanding of clients’ industries, business environments, and market positioning.
• Take a long‑term, strategic view of client needs, identifying risks, opportunities, and value‑adding solutions.
• Provide practical, commercial advice that genuinely enhances clients’ businesses.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with current accounting and legal standards.
• Analyse management accounting reports and provide clear, actionable insights to clients.
• Design, develop, and analyse financial models.
• Identify, research, and resolve complex accounting and technical issues.
• Review income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds.
• Deliver complex tax planning strategies for clients.
• Manage team workflow, delegate effectively, and communicate regularly with Partners.
• Review and develop the work of junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships.
