Job summary

Top Cut Foods is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Pricing Analyst to join our Finance team. Based on the Gold Coast, you will blend core management accounting with commercial pricing, profitability, and business analysis across a national business.

You will partner with Sales, Procurement and Operations to deliver insightful financial reporting, pricing strategies and scenario modelling that inform strategic decisions and improve margins.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in management accounting, commercial analysis, pricing or FP&A.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and performance analysis.

Top Cut Foods is Australia’s national specialist butcher, supplying premium meat products to foodservice, hospitality, healthcare, education and institutional customers across the country.

With seven processing and distribution facilities nationwide and more than 40 years of industry success, we are entering an exciting new phase of growth through our Top Cut 2.0 transformation strategy. As we continue building a more data-driven, commercially focused and financially disciplined business, we are looking for an experienced Management Accountant / Pricing Analyst to join our Finance team and help shape the future of our commercial and financial performance.

This is a newly created, high-impact role reporting directly to the CFO, offering a rare opportunity to combine core management accounting responsibilities with commercial pricing, profitability and business analysis across a national business.

You will play a key role in providing the financial insights, analysis and commercial intelligence that support better business decisions across Top Cut Foods. You will have responsibility for core management accounting activities, while also becoming a key contributor to our national pricing strategy and margin optimisation.

You will work closely with Sales, Finance, Procurement and Operations, providing analysis and insights across financial performance, product costing, customer profitability, pricing, budgeting and forecasting.

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis for key areas of the business.
• Analyse financial results against budget, forecast and prior periods, identifying key drivers, trends and variances.
• Prepare detailed variance analysis and commentary, translating financial results into meaningful commercial insights.
• Assist with the preparation and ongoing management of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to understand financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor key financial and operational KPIs, providing regular reporting to management and executive leadership.
• Assist with month-end financial processes, including accruals, journals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Support the preparation of financial forecasts and scenario modelling to assist with business planning and decision-making.
• Provide financial analysis and modelling for capital expenditure, projects and strategic initiatives as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, cost management and profitability.
• Own and continuously improve Top Cut Foods' national pricing framework.
• Analyse market movements, supplier costs, input costs and pricing trends to support strategic pricing decisions.
• Develop and maintain product costing, pricing and margin models across multiple product categories.
• Monitor livestock and wholesale protein markets, translating cost movements into actionable pricing recommendations.
• Analyse product, customer and channel profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins.
• Support customer pricing reviews, tenders, contract renewals and commercial proposals.
• Build financial models and commercial scenarios to assess the impact of pricing, cost and volume changes.
• Deliver pricing, profitability and margin reporting to executive leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins, optimise pricing structures and reduce revenue leakage.
• Maintain pricing governance processes, controls and approval frameworks.
• Provide commercial analysis to support new product development, customer negotiations and strategic initiatives.

Business Partnering

• Act as a trusted finance and commercial partner to Sales, Procurement and Operations.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business performance and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, practical recommendations.
• Provide financial insight to support better decision-making at both operational and executive levels.
• Continuously improve reporting, analysis and financial processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and commercial value.

About You

You are a commercially minded Management Accountant / Commercial Analyst who enjoys combining financial reporting and analysis with hands‑on commercial problem solving.

You will be comfortable working with large volumes of data, building financial models and explaining financial information to non‑finance stakeholders. You will also have the confidence to challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to improve profitability and business performance.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a broad finance role and wants to move beyond traditional month‑end accounting into a position with greater commercial exposure, business partnering and strategic influence.

To Be Successful, You'll Bring

• 3+ years' experience in management accounting, commercial analysis, pricing, FP&A or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles, financial reporting and performance analysis.
• Experience with month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Strong commercial acumen and an ability to understand the drivers of revenue, cost and profitability.
• Experience building and maintaining financial models and analysis tools.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to financial and data accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and commercial insights clearly to operational and executive stakeholders.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards CA/CPA would be highly regarded.

Highly Regarded

• Experience in food manufacturing, foodservice, FMCG, wholesale distribution or protein-based industries.
• Experience with product costing, standard costing or margin analysis.
• Knowledge of pricing strategy, customer profitability and commercial finance.
• Exposure to livestock, meat processing or agricultural supply chains.
• Experience working within a multi-site national business.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with Power BI, business intelligence and data visualisation tools.
• Experience partnering with Sales, Procurement and Operations teams.
• Strong understanding of inventory, cost of goods sold and gross margin drivers.
