Lawson Elliott Recruitment – Sunshine Coast QLD is seeking an FP&A Analyst/Management Accountant to join a PE-backed national business. You will support the CFO with analysis, reporting, and strategic decision making, balancing planning/analysis with monthly management accounting tasks.

The role offers exposure to large ERP systems, budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX, and executive reporting. Candidates should have 5+ years’ experience and CA/CPA credentials; Sunshine Coast or Brisbane office work is

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance, FP&A or accounting roles.
• CA/ CPA qualification (2 years post-qualification) preferred.
• Big 4 or Mid-Tier training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse, and report on accounting data including cashflows, P&Ls, balance sheets, and general ledger activity.
• Contribute to Group Consolidated Month-End Board Reporting, Divisional Reports, and Departmental Financials.
• Perform detailed analysis of Australian and overseas financial results.
• Assist project teams with budgets, forecasts and CAPEX planning.
• Deliver tailored reporting and insights for General Managers and the CFO.
• Document processes, controls and drive continuous improvement.

This PE backed national business with operations both in Australia and overseas has been given the green light to push ahead with expansion mode. With positive cash flow, quick decision-making and a highly engaged team, they are looking to strengthen their reporting, and insights capability.

Supporting an accomplished FP&A Manager this FP&A Analyst/ Management Accountant will be part of a nimble group that works closely with the CFO to review, analyse and present scenarios for future business decisions. 50% of the role will be planning/ analysis and the balance will be supporting monthly management accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, analyse, and report on accounting data including cashflows, P&Ls, balance sheets, and general ledger activity.

Contribute to Group Consolidated Month-End Board Reporting, Divisional Reports, and Departmental Financials.

Perform detailed analysis of Australian and overseas financial results.

Budgeting, Forecasting & CAPEX

Assist project teams with budget development and cost planning.

Support the FP&A Manager in preparing budgets, reforecasts, and managing CAPEX. Prepare regular budget vs actual reports for department heads, General Managers, and other stakeholders.

Value-Add & Executive Support

Deliver tailored reporting and insights for General Managers and the CFO.

Conduct market, industry, and economic analysis to support Executive Team reporting. Build and implement new internal value-add reports for Finance and Senior Management, embedding them into business practices.

Process Improvement & Documentation

Understand and document processes, systems, and controls relevant to the role. Identify gaps and proactively suggest improvements that add business value. Continuously critique and streamline work processes for efficiency and accuracy.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, proven experience with large ERP’s, CA/ CPA (2 years post qual), corporate finance, economics background highly desirable as is Big 4/ Mid-Tier training. This role requires a high level of Excel
