A regional health service in Queensland is seeking a Management Accountant to provide financial support across its facilities. The role involves budget preparation, data analysis, and close collaboration with managers to ensure sound financial governance. This role is one of 6 Management Accountants and 5 Senior Management Accountants who report to the Manager, Management Accounting within the Finance Division. These roles work within allocated portfolios to provide financial support to the hospital and community facilities across Central Queensland Health.
The role is part of a designated management accounting team required to maintain contemporary knowledge of legislation and standards regarding financial management and budgeting, including activity based funding and financial management policies and procedures to ensure the Business Unit and Central Queensland Health has sound financial governance to comply with regulatory and legislative requirements.
Role holders work closely with the Business Units, particularly cost centre managers. The role holders assist the Manager, Management Accounting, Senior Management Accountants and Executive Directors / General Managers to meet their financial accountabilities by preparing and analysing data and identifying trends and risks at the cost centre level to ensure the Manager, Management Accounting, Senior Management Accountant and the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams have visibility of performance across the business unit to assist with strategy and planning of clinical and operational services.
Demonstrated ability to identify key issues, analyse and review data, utilise problem solving skills and the ability to develop practical solutions and provide quality advice to address financial management issues.
Experience in budget preparation, forecasting, performance reporting, data analysis and resource management for a large, complex organisation.
Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of Queensland Health approved financial computer systems, policies, procedures, legislative frameworks.
Total remuneration value of up to $114,177 p.a. is comprised of:
17.5% leave loading
