Job summary

We are partnering with a university to recruit a Management Accountant to join the Finance Business Partnering / Financial Services team. This hands-on role supports forecasting, budgeting, reporting timetables and builds strong relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple cost centres.

You will be part of a small, collaborative team providing clear, practical financial insights that support planning and performance. Hybrid work and flexible start/finish times are offered.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in finance/business or equivalent experience.
• CA or CPA membership (current) required.
• Strong management accounting experience, ideally in a university or large/complex environment.
• 8+ years’ experience in management accounting preferred.
• Proven budgeting, forecasting and income/expenditure management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience with SAP, Excel and Power BI desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver management accounting support including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, modelling and scenario analysis.
• Provide business case analysis, cost-benefit assessments and financial projections.
• Support decision-making with insights, trend analysis and performance monitoring.
• Assist with financial systems support (budgeting/forecasting tools) and contribute to process improvements.
• Build trusted relationships with a broad network of university stakeholders and support compliance requirements.
• Contribute to survey/reporting requirements and assist with group consolidation activities as needed.

The Opportunity:

We are excited to partner with our client to recruit a Management Accountant to join the Finance Business Partnering / Financial Services team within Financial Resources Management. This is a hands-on role supporting forecasting, budgeting, reporting timetables, and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple cost centres.

You'll join a small, collaborative team and work closely with stakeholders to provide clear, practical financial insights that support planning and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver management accounting support including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, modelling and scenario analysis
• Provide business case analysis, cost-benefit assessments and financial projections
• Support decision-making through meaningful insights, trend analysis and performance monitoring
• Assist with financial systems support (including budgeting/forecasting tools) and contribute to process improvement
• Build trusted relationships with a broad network of university stakeholders and support compliance requirements
• Contribute to survey / reporting requirements and assist with group consolidation activities as needed

About You:

You are a proactive, solutions-focused finance professional who can translate complex information into clear recommendations.

You will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in finance/business (or equivalent experience)
• CA or CPA membership (current)
• Strong experience across management accounting (ideally within a University or large/complex environment)
• Ideally your experience as a Management Accountant spans at least 8+ years
• Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting and income/expenditure management
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Confidence working with tools such as SAP, advanced Excel, and ideally Power BI
