Job summary

RGIT Australia is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to maintain plant, equipment and facilities at the Dubbo Mill site. The role includes afternoon/night shifts, a rotating weekend on-call roster, and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

You will handle preventive maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, and support projects to improve reliability. A current driver's license and strong fabrication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in maintenance trades within a production setting.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Competent in welding and fabrication for production line upkeep.
  • Excellent safety practices and adherence to SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant, equipment and facilities on a daily basis.
  • Contribute to preventive maintenance and minimize downtime across shifts.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors on site while ensuring safety and minimal disruption.
  • Support projects and modifications to improve machinery efficiency and reliability.
  • Operate and use workshop tools and equipment effectively.

The Position

Join our team as a skilled tradesperson or handyman. We have a full-time position,with afternoon and night shift rosters and a rotating weekend on-call roster.Your role will be to maintain the plant, equipment, and facility at the Dubbo Mill site on a daily basis.

The Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Conformance to statutory and company-approved Safe Operating Procedures.

Effectively working and communicating with Production and other Maintenance team members to ensure plant performance is maximised across all shifts.

Maintaining mechanical & electrical equipment in a safe and usable condition to ensure that the workplace is safe for all staff.

Participate in and provide guidance on all maintenance procedures for the plant, equipment, and facilities.

Be directly responsible for the day-to-day mechanical and electrical serviceability of the production lines to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum, and undertake maintenance works for other plant areas as required.

Participating in a Preventive Maintenance Program for production lines, site equipment, and facilities to ensure that maintenance works are coordinated and completed in a timely manner, that records of repairs and maintenance carried out are retained, and that both planned and unplanned stoppages are minimised.

Participate as required in Projects and Modifications to improve machinery efficiency and reliability, ensuring that all work carried out is safe and considered.

Practising due diligence and sound judgment in determining when contractors are required and subsequently supervising them while on site to ensure compliance with safety requirements and minimum disruption to site activities.

About You

We are looking for someone keen to make an impact in this role, passionate about safety, and able to work in a team environment.

The Essentials

Extensive experience working within a strong and systems-based safety culture.

Experience working as a maintenance tradesman in a production environment.

Current driver's license

Understanding of both mechanical and electrical fault finding and repair.

A thorough understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and associated production line equipment and plant.

Be competent and skilled in all forms of welding (MIG, electric arc and oxy/acetylene) and fabrication techniques supporting production line maintenance.

Efficient and productive use of both powered and hand tools.

Be competent in the use and operation of all workshop tools and equipment, including but not limited to Lathes, Milling machines, Grinders etc.

Professional work practices and a strong work ethic.

A positive, constructive attitude, a strong focus on preparation and planning, and a mindset geared towards effectively utilising every second to ensure maximum plant uptime.

Be on the rotating weekend on-call roster.
