Job summary

Goal Indigenous Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the safe, efficient maintenance of traffic control systems across the VIMC contract in Williamstown. This Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified position supports a critical public infrastructure program.

You will lead reactive, routine and planned maintenance, ensure compliance with safety standards and manage subcontractors, training and asset reliability to deliver continuous service.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising electrical, traffic signal, ITS, communications or similar infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience managing reactive faults, planned maintenance and subcontractors.
• A current Victorian driver licence and construction induction card (White Card) is preferred.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety, traffic management, permits, risk assessments and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate fault response, incident priorities and communication with stakeholders.
• Lead pre-starts, toolbox talks, competency checks and field coaching.
• Manage subcontractor performance, compliance, work quality and documentation.
• Support transition of maintenance activities to internal teams through training and readiness.
• Maintain accurate work orders, test results, photographs, defect records and completion reports.
• Inspect completed works, resolve defects and contribute to continuous improvement and asset reliability.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team and support the safe, efficient and compliant maintenance of traffic control systems across the VIMC contract in Williamstown.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise reactive, routine and planned maintenance of traffic control systems.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety, traffic management, permits, risk assessments and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate fault response, incident priorities and communication with the Department of Transport and Planning, Transport Operations Centre and other stakeholders.
• Lead pre-starts, toolbox talks, competency checks and field coaching.
• Manage subcontractor performance, compliance, work quality and documentation.
• Support the transition of maintenance activities to internal teams through training, equipment readiness and competency verification.
• Maintain accurate work orders, test results, photographs, defect records and completion reports.
• Inspect completed works, resolve defects and contribute to continuous improvement and asset reliability.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience supervising electrical, traffic signal, ITS, communications or similar infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience managing reactive faults, planned maintenance and subcontractors.
• A relevant electrical, electronic, communications or technical trade qualification, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• A current Victorian driver licence and construction induction card (White Card).
• Knowledge of traffic management, electrical safety and field-based risk controls.
• Experience in frontline leadership, work allocation, incident response and contractor management.
• The ability to interpret work orders, technical documentation, KPIs and service-level requirements.
• Relevant licences and authorisations where required.
