Job summary

Minor Hotels, proudly operating Avani Cypress Lakes Resort, seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate all maintenance across the property. The role supports a small team, leads preventative maintenance, and ensures WHS compliance.

The successful candidate will perform hands-on repairs, supervise two Maintenance Officers, and liaise with contractors to keep facilities running smoothly while supporting the Hotel Manager on recruitment and development of staff.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on maintenance or facilities experience, preferably in a hotel.
• Experience supervising or supporting a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• A relevant trade or building qualification will be highly regarded.
• Experience liaising and coordinating with Contractors.
• Sound interpersonal and presentation skills.

• Oversee electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security systems, hydraulics and contractor works.
• Ensure compliance with WHS best practices.
• Assist with stock control and supplier coordination to maintain efficient operations.
• Prepare quotes and schedule maintenance tasks, including minor Capex works.
• Collaborate with Hotel Manager on recruiting and developing the Maintenance team.

Job Description

Avani Cypress Lakes Resort are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Supervisor to support our Maintenance department on a full-time basis.

In this role, the successful candidate will assist in coordinating and carrying out all maintenance requirements across the property.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Assist in leading and executing the preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal property performance.
• Assist in supervising a team of two Maintenance Officers
• Provide hands-on support by performing repairs and maintenance as required across the property.
• Supervise and support key service areas including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, pest control, cleaning, fire protection, security control systems, hydraulic services, and approved contractor works.
• Always Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) best practices.
• Assist with stock control and supplier coordination to maintain efficient operations.
• Support in preparing quotes and scheduling maintenance tasks, including minor Capex works.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager to support the recruitment and development of the Maintenance team.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Monday to Friday
• 6:30am start time (flexible for the right candidate)
• Afterhours caretaker on site – weekend/afterhours calls may be required on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous hands-on Maintenance or Facilities experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Experience supervising or supporting team members within a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• A relevant trade or building qualification will be highly regarded.
• Experience liaising and coordinating with Contractors.
• Sound MS Office skills (including Excel spreadsheets and Word documents).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with impeccable presentation.
