Job summary

Amentum in Alice Springs is seeking a Service Person to perform building maintenance, repairs and renovations across residential properties as part of the Vesta contract. You will support trades and other personnel while following environmental and safety procedures in a dynamic team environment.

The role requires a minimum of 12 months in a similar field, strong customer service focus, and the ability to work safely with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in a similar role.
• Background in carpentry, electrical or plumbing is desirable.
• Knowledge of hand and powered tools and machinery is essential.
• Able to work safely and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance for the facility in line with environmental and safety procedures.
• Operate plant and machinery (e.g., skid steer, excavator, crane truck) as required.
• Undertake regular inspections and tasks within your skills, experience, qualifications and certifications.
• Report incidents to management as a priority and use computer systems to plan work tasks.
• Support other areas of facilities and maintenance as required.
• Promote health and safety practices at worksites and within the workplace.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Officer –This role will see youperform maintenance,repairsor renovationsinseveralskill areas including plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, reticulation and plastering withinresidential properties in the town of Alice Springs. The serviceperson also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasksrequired.

Work Schedule:Monday to Thursday 0730- 1600Hrs and Friday 0730-1330Hrs (38-hourweek)

ResponsibilitiesInclude:

• Perform building operations maintenance for the facilityin accordance withestablished environmental and safetyproceduresa wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the Vesta contract requirements and undertake grounds maintenance activities asrequired

• Operate plant and machinery including skid steer, excavator, dingo, crane truck, etc. asrequired

• Undertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual’s skills, experience,qualificationsand certifications

• Undertake all work in a safe and professional manner

• Report and incidents to management as a priority

• Use of computer systems to record and plan work tasks

• Assistin other areas of facilities and maintenanceareafrom time to time, asrequired.

• Ensure, promote, andmaintainhealth and safety practices/compliances at worksites and within the workplace

• Other duties as directed by the Vesta Management Team

About You

• Minimum of 12monthsexperiencein a similar role

• Previousexperience within carpentry electrical or plumbing trades would be highly regarded

• Considerable knowledge of and skill in use of hand and powered equipment and machinery, including but not limited to grinders, drills, saws, planers, routers, radial armsawsand measuring devices

• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus

• Demonstrated ability toidentifyand analyze issues and develop solutions to problems

• Ability to work professionally with minimal supervisionand in a team environment

• Forklift License and EWP(desirable)

• CPR/First Aid(desirable)

• Current DriversLicence

• Willingness to perform Background Checks, PoliceClearanceand Medical including D&A Test

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:WorkinginAlice Springs can be hot and physical work. Typical tasks include but are not limited toPatching painting walls, housing maintenance repairs, outdoor tap replacements, lawn upgrades, door replacements.

MinimumRequirements(Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• 12 months experience

• At least 18 years of age.

• Able to fluently read, write and speak English

• Completing worktaskin a safe manner

• Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/orVestaPMO/EHS Manager

• Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the JDFPG Handbook during the performance of their work

• Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to "STOP WORK" if a job is unsafe orpossessa danger to the environment

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain andretaintheappropriate levelof security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.The employee will require a NV-1Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian).
