Job summary

Accor Apartments & Realty in Queensland is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep guest rooms, amenities and public areas in excellent condition. You will tackle a wide range of repairs and preventative maintenance tasks, using your tools and common sense to prevent small issues from becoming bigger problems.

You should be comfortable in a physical role, capable of working with a team or independently, and prepared for flexible rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Comfortable in a physical role and able to stay motivated to finish tasks safely and efficiently.
• Prior experience in property maintenance is a plus; no formal qualifications required.
• Confident in communicating with management, guests, and onsite contractors.
• Ability to work a flexible rotating schedule, including weekends and public holidays.

Purpose

As Maintenance Officer, you will be the master of all trades, prepared to take on any maintenance, repair, or improvement challenge that may arise. You possess the ability to spot issues before they escape (today's leak could become tomorrow's flood!) and you skilfully employ your handy tools to address a diverse range of tasks, ensuring the property remains in impeccable condition.

Primary Responsibilities

• Take charge of ensuring that all rooms, amenities, and communal spaces within the property are well-maintained and in excellent condition
• Collaborate with a diverse team, requiring both a cooperative mindset and the ability to work independently
• Encounter stimulating challenges that require innovative solutions
• Be thoroughly trained and provided information on how to progress in your field

Skills and Experience

• Comfortable in a physical role, have a get-up-and-go attitude and be someone who won’t stop until the job is completed in a safe and presentable manner
• Prior experience in property maintenance and familiarity with preventative maintenance programs is a plus / no official qualifications required
• Confident in communicating effectively at all levels, from the General Manager, to guests and contractors working onsite
• Capable of embracing a flexible rotating schedule, including weekends and public holidays
