Job summary

Preformed Line Products, Australia, is seeking a maintenance professional to manage upkeep across departments and facilities. The role focuses on servicing machinery, tooling, and general building maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operations.

You will diagnose faults, coordinate with external contractors, and contribute to continuous improvement by modifying or creating fixtures and layouts where needed. Candidates with multi-tasking ability and strong safety awareness are encouraged to apply.

Job description

About the role

To manage maintenance and service support across various departments, infrastructure and general facilities.
The role will focus on a wide variety of machinery and tooling maintenance and repair, along with building repairs and other general duties as directed.

Key responsibilities
  • Facilitate, implement and oversee the safe routine maintenance of equipment, machinery, tooling, plant and site, by self or third parties according to the maintenance schedule, including CNC equipment, presses, welding machines, jigs, fixtures, tooling. Management of external contractors responsible for security, yards/grass, air conditioning, solar and site cleaning.
  • Investigate equipment failures to diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Maintain the status of maintenance tasks on the maintenance schedule, including machine maintenance tasks recorded in software package MaintainX as well as other Microsoft applications.
  • Manage the storage, handling, disposal and tracking of hazardous wastes such as machine oils and used coolants in line with regulatory requirements and documented ISO14001 procedures.
  • Recommend modifications and/or make those modifications to existing production equipment, jigs, fixtures and tooling, to ensure they are safe, reliable, reduce downtime, set-up time and maintenance time.
  • Create new jigs, fixtures or tooling, or make changes to the layout or facility, with the aim of contributing to an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Be safety aware, abide by the company's safety rules and policies and report all hazards, near misses and incidents through the safety management system.
About you
  • Electrical or mechanical trade qualifications (e.g. fitting and machining).
  • Experience with machinery fault analysis and rectification.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and assembly industry best practice and accepted techniques associated with warehouse practices.
  • Appropriate knowledge of the NSW WHS Regulation and codes of practice relevant to the safe operation of machinery and plant, chemical management, welding and hot-work and others as appropriate for the site.
  • Experience in Asset Management programs and Microsoft applications and using MS Outlook or similar.
  • Ability to multi-task working within given timeframes and constraints.
  • Ability to perform many handyman type jobs including metal fabrication, welding, painting and general repairs.
  • The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions.
